The IEC recognizes the unique perspective provided by academics and seeks to support projects that can stimulate academic debate and bring new insight on the development and impact of international standards and conformity assessment

Shenzhen Technology University

The IEC offers learning modules, developed in cooperation with academics, that can help universities integrate the concepts of standardization and conformity assessment into their curriculum. Students are also invited to participate in courses available through the IEC Academy.

Cooperation with ISO and ITU

Under the auspices of the World Standards Cooperation, the IEC co-organizes the annual Academic Day with ISO and the ITU.

Academic challenges

From time to time, the IEC organizes academic competitions. Awards are given for the best academic publications based on the topic to be addressed. Most recently, the IEC, together with IEEE and the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) organized a competition on the Future Challenges in Standardization.
