Management structure
The Council is the supreme governing body of the IEC. Management is delegated to the Council Board, the SMB, MSB and CAB.

Council (C)

The Council is a legislative body and is the supreme governing body of the IEC. A number of Management Advisory Committees report to the Council.

IEC Central Office

The IEC CO provides support to members and affiliate countries, as well as supervising the proper application of rules and procedures.

Standardization Management Board (SMB)

The SMB is responsible for the management and supervision of the IEC standards work.

Council Board (CB)

The CB is a decision-making body equivalent to the Board of Directors in a company. 

 

Executive Committee (EXCO)

The ExCo comprises the IEC Officers. It reports to the CB, implements CB and Council decisions and, through the General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, supervises all Central Office operations.

 

Market Strategy Board

The MSB identifies the principal technological trends and market needs in the IEC fields of activity.
